Here at Venice Elks #1854

  •  We send 10+ children to Youth Camp each Summer for a week 
  • We provide physical therapy to children whose family has lost their insurance coverage or have none for as long as the child needs it. These physical therapy treatment are done at home. 
  • We Feed 70+ families Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner 
  • We invite and serve lunch to veterans living in local assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
  • We provide to the CW Haley VA Hospital Nursing Home comfort packages (razors, shave cream, toothpaste, brushes, sock, hankies, sun glasses, tissues, etc.) for the patients arriving. We also donate phone cards for the patients to call home.
  • We provide playing cards to the veterans

  • We provide personal care products to the local Salvation Army for their Homeless Shelter 
  • We assist in distributing food at the local food bank 
  • We provide clothing, school supplies, books, toys, bicycles, washing making and dryers to the Sarasota Sheriffs Youth Ranch for abandoned or abused children. 
  • We donate 20 bicycles to a local school as an incentive for their Reading Program. 
  • We provide through Elks’ National Foundation Scholarships to local High School Graduates. 
  • Our Legacy Grants are available to children or grandchildren of Elk members in Good Standing. 
  • We provide wrapped toys and gifts to 45+ children from Santa 

  •  We go to the CW Haley VA Hospital and serve lunch to the wounded veterans and military personnel. 
  • We raise money for the Army of Hope which assists Veteran and Deployed Military personnel and their families, if they need help with car repairs, making mortgage payments, etc. 
  • We gave over $2 million dollars last year to military families in need. 
  • We hold a Hoop Shoot encompassing 10 local schools with over 300 students in competition. The Hoop Shoot is for Scholarships.
  • We donate School Supplies to the Local Community Center for needy and homeless children 
  • We participate in the after school nack program at Laurel Community Center
