Elks are committed to eliminating the use of illegal drugs by all members of society and believe that in order to ensure a bright future for our country, it is essential that our Children be raised in a drug-free environment.

Hoop Shoot Program

A free throw program for Youths ages 8-13. The Hoop Shoot is a free to all participants and provides our youth an opportunity to compete, connect and succeed. The Local winners can advance to State, Regional and National Levels. Venice Nokomis Elks have had one of Hoop Shoot Contestants go all the way to the National Championship in Chicago. The Hoop Shoot Program offers Scholarships to the winners.

Elks National Foundation for Grants and Scholarships

By donations and contributions to our ENF Fund, we are able to receive Beacon, Promise, Gratitude and Freedom Grants. These Grants provide Thanksgiving and Christ-mas Dinners for 180 families at local elementary schools. They help supply school supplies, backpacks, after school snack programs, and to the Local Sheriff’s Youth Ranch we are able to provide Christmas presents, clothes, and necessary items for the children. We also provide comfort packages to the Vet-erans in the VA Hospital and provide them with lunches quarterly. We invite 25-45 Veterans from lo-cal assisted living facilities to lunch once a month.

Through the ENF Scholarship Program we have been able to give over $150,000 in scholarships to local students at Venice High School.
